The build up to kickoff
I started the day heading into the town centre where I met up with my dad, uncle and my cousin we stayed in the town centre for around an hour before setting off to Anfield in time for the bus arrival. They used a new bus route for this game as they were expecting a much larger crowd the normal route is down past Taggys and the Trent mural down into the bus entrance on the corner of the main stand but they changed this for the final day as the road was narrow. The route they took for this games was down the Anfield road stand i arrived roughly 5 minutes before the bus got to where i was standing along the King Kenny stand when the bus came past the atmosphere was good when the bus arrived however i was very far back from the bus as there was limited places to stand where the bus came in whereas the old route came down a very long road so it was easy to arrive just before the bus and get a good and close view.
After the bus arrival i headed into the hospitality suite for the game i was in the reds bar in the Kenny Dalglish stand the match ticket costed roughly 500 pound you head in through the middle of the stand where you scan your ticket get your wristband and then you get given a free drink token and a match program. In the lounge the experience was very underwhelming considering the price all that was included was access to the reds bar where they advertised special chef cooked food for sale which in reality was just normal food you can get in the concourse like burgers and chips they tasted just like the normal food in the ground the inly difference are these were more expensive. The ticket also included the program and a free drink. Whilst in the lounge pre game they had many TVs that were showing different stuff we watched a bit off the Monaco gran prix before heading to our seat
These were the seats that we had for the game they were pretty good seats on row three down near the Anfield road end. in the minutes leading up to the game there were talks of a double guard of honour which we didn't think much of at the time. The players walk out and the double guard of honour happens which is a nice touch the Liverpool crowd start chanting champions which is then joined in with by the palace fans showing the party atmosphere for the game. When the players walked out there was also a crowd mosaic to hold up across three stands they only negative about this was that it was meant to be held up on the stadium announcers command but the stadium was so loud that most people didn't hear it leading to a delay in the hold up. the game kicks off and the atmosphere is incredible from both Liverpool and palace fans. palace take the lead and keep it going into the half time break. in the second half salah has a shot deflected into the top corner to share the points.
Now that the game has ended the anticipation for the trophy lift increases as the players head back into the tunnel before coming out and lining up one by one to get their medals and stand on the podium awaiting Virgil and the lift of number 20 and then the long awaited moment the first league title at a packed out Anfield in 35 years happened
